Thimphu is a diverse municipality. On a lesser scale, it is comparable to New York or London. Thimphu continues to experience a large migration of individuals from all around the nation seeking better lifestyles as socioeconomic growth and possibilities improve. Thimphu's population is made up of people from numerous ethnic groups. Despite its exponential and quick growth, Thimphu has successfully kept its culture and traditions. Any visitor to this one-of-a-kind city will enjoy the pleasure of contemporary comfort while still witnessing historical monuments and traditional ways of living.

Aside from its structural splendor, Punakha Dzong is renowned for housing the preserved remains of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, Bhutan's unifier, and the Ranjung Karsapani, a holy relic. When Tsangpa Gyarey, the founder of the Drukpa School, was cremated, a self-created picture of Avalokiteswara magically erupted from his spine.

Punakha Valley's climate is pleasant, with mild winters and scorching summers. It is situated at an average height of 1200 m above sea level. Rice has been the principal cash crop grown in the region due to favorable climatic conditions.
