The Phenomenal Delhi Agra Varanasi Tour
The journey will take visitors throughout the Republic of India, a South Asian republic that includes the bulk of the Indian subcontinent. India has a 7,000-kilometer-long coastline and shares borders with Pakistan to the west, the People's Republic of China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the northeast, and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. It shares the Indian Ocean with the Maldives to the southwest, Sri Lanka to the south, and Indonesia to the southeast. To the northwest, India shares a border with Afghanistan.
The journey includes visits to these lovely cities:
Delhi, India's capital, is a dynamic and bustling city recognized for its many cultures and people. This city has its own spirit and essence that can't be found anywhere else. There's so much to see in Delhi, from the alleyways of Old Delhi, which are crammed with spice stores, clothes shops, and hundred-year-old cafes, to modern Delhi, which includes a colonial-era parliament complex, trendy clubs, and restaurants to have fun.
Agra is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, located on the banks of the Yamuna River. It lies 378 kilometers (235 miles) west of Lucknow and 206 kilometers (128 miles) south of New Delhi, the national capital. It is a popular tourist destination due to its several Mughal-era structures, most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Varanasi, also known as Benares, is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, 320 kilometers (200 miles) south of the state capital, Lucknow, and 121 kilometers (75 miles) east of Allahabad. It is the holiest of the seven sacred towns (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism and Jainism, and it had a significant part in the formation of Buddhism. Varanasi is well-known for its muslin and silk textiles, fragrances, ivory carvings, and art. Buddhism is thought to have been started here in 528 BCE, when Buddha delivered his first sermon, "The Setting in Motion of the Wheel of Dharma," at nearby Sarnath.
It has been a cultural hub of North India for several thousand years and is strongly tied with the Ganges.
Hindus believe that dying in the city will bring salvation, making it a popular pilgrimage destination. The city is famous for its many ghats, which are stone slab embankments along the river bank where pilgrims perform ceremonial ablutions. The Dashashwamedh Ghat, the Panchganga Ghat, the Manikarnika Ghat, and the Harishchandra Ghat are particularly noteworthy. The last two are where Hindus cremate their dead, and the Hindu genealogical registers of Varanasi are stored here.
Program ( 7 Days )
Our representative will meet you at the Indira Gandhi International Airport or the railway station and help you transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast, we will meet you in the hotel lobby and drive you to Old Delhi to see the beautiful Jama Masjid, India's biggest mosque, followed by a unique look at local life with a rickshaw ride through the lively local bazaar of Chandni Chowk.
Drive by the Red Fort before heading to New Delhi to see the most prominent stone tower in India, the 800-year-old Qutub Minar, which ancient Hindu and Muslim complexes flank. Continue to Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi's cremation place. Drive by India Gate, the President's House, Parliament House, and the Government Secretariat Buildings.
After breakfast, travel to Agra in the east. En route, stop briefly at the erstwhile royal city of Fatehpur Sikri (approximately 1.5 hours). Emperor Akbar erected this city in 1569, but it was abandoned after 15 years owing to a lack of water. After that, have lunch and travel to Agra. Check in the hotel upon arrival.
As of today morning, you may avoid the crowds and heat of the daytime at the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday); this world-famous structure made of white marble was erected by a great monarch in honor of his beloved. Visit the opulent Regal Pavilions later to taste the royal Mughal way of life at the red sandstone Agra Fort. Transfer to the train station in the evening to catch the train to Varanasi.
Before dawn, your guide will pick you up from the hotel so you may see the incredible display that begins each day on Varanasi's waterfront. Varanasi's main draw is the extensive network of bathing ghats along the Ganges River's west bank. Ghats are the stairs that descend to the river where pilgrims bathe in it to wash away their sins and where remains are burned.
You may learn about the numerous ceremonies during a boat journey on the Ganges in the morning when it is crowded with pilgrims. After passing the most significant Ghats, get off the boat and have a quick city tour that includes the Golden Temple, Banaras Hindu University, and the temple devoted to Mother India, Bharat Mata. Continue your journey in the afternoon to Sarnath (The Deer Park), the site of the Buddha's first speech, and the Sarnath Museum.
After breakfast, you can visit the local market in Varanasi and get ready for a drive to back to Delhi. Overnight hotel in Delhi.
After breakfast, our representative will drop you off at the airport three hours before your flight.
