  • Manaslu Region

Opened in 1992, this area offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed beauty, and biological diversity.

Manaslu, at 8163 meters (26, 775′), is the 8th highest peak in the world and is located near the border of Nepal and Tibet. Manaslu means “The Spirit-Mountain” in the local dialect, referring to the benevolent and firm deity that dwells within. Trekking in Manaslu is one of the most delightful adventures a person can take.

When trekking through the Manaslu region, ten peaks of over 6,500 meters (21,300 ft) are visible, including mountains of over 7,000 meters (23,000 ft) elevation.

Trekkers will be greeted by breathtaking mountain range views and lush green vegetation. It is also home to many endangered species. You can enjoy your beautiful 22 days in the Manaslu base camp trek.

The trek follows an ancient salt–trading route along the steep-sided Budhi Gandaki river. From Deng, the slopes of ravines ease, and views of snow peaks start appearing from Ligaon. Further from Lhogaon, an impressive view of the base camp can be seen.

We will spend our day sightseeing around some of the attractive world heritage sites within Kathmandu valley. We also will complete all the necessary paper works and other preparations.

Our trek initially begins with the trail that crosses a small bridge and then ascends. We have a downhill walk to Budi Gandaki river banks. We again start climbing towards Maccha Khola through charming Gurung cultural village of Labishe.

We start our journey by following the Budi Gandaki River side then follow a descending trail through several ridges. After that, we take a few gentle ascents and descents to finally reach Jagat. In the evening, we have an excursion to the village to explore the local cultural, lifestyle and tradition.

Away from Jagat, the trail leads us to Setibas within an hour. Setibas is a Buddhist village where we can see several mani walls and colorful prayer flags. Then, we continue trekking towards Ghatta Khola and Philim village. We follow a trail that enters a steep uninhabited gorge, descending through grassy slopes and crossing the Budi Gandaki River. We walk through a bamboo forest towards the tiny village of Deng.

After breakfast, we follow a few ascents and descents until we reach Ghap village. Along the route, we can explore the tiny village Ghap. Then, we make further ascents through rhododendron and bamboo filled forest leading us to Namrung Village.

From Namrung, we can have an early morning tantalizing view of the sunrise over the Ganesh Himal, Himal Chuli and Siring Himal. After breakfast, we leave Namrung following the ascending trail through beautiful forests and reach Lihi – a charming village with Buddhist monastery, chhortens and barley terraces. We further cross other few villages such as Sho, Lho and Shyala before reaching Samagaon. Along the route, the trail offers us a view fascinating scenery of Mt. We take an off day at Samagaon before heading up to rest and explore. We hike towards Pungyen monastery for great view of the glacier and mountains. We visit the local village with friendly locals.

In the afternoon, we will have plenty of time to get acclimatized and relaxed.

On this day we reach and cross the adventurous Larkya La Pass at 5135 meters. We leave Larkya Phedi early in the morning because we have to cross the pass to avoid matured sun rays and unusual winds at the pass.
