ANNAPURNA GHANDRUNG TREK

The Ghandruk Trek or Ghandrung Trek is an excellent trekking choice for individuals visiting Nepal for the first time or who wish to combine a reasonably short trek with other activities. You can complete it in three or four days.

The Ghandruk Trek begins at Phedi, which is less than an hour's drive from Pokhara. The path goes through lush rhododendron forests, rice fields, and up steep stone-slab stairs through scenic towns in the lower Annapurna area, all while snow-capped mountains tower above you.

The busy historic village of Ghandruk, with its comparatively wealthy Gurung people, is the major draw of this 3-day trek. Staying in Ghandruk is a fantastic experience since the community has a welcoming atmosphere and gives breathtaking views of the Himalayan giants Annapurna, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare (Fishtail).

Program ( 4 Days )

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Pokhara is a tourist paradise full of natural and cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, and temples of Buddhists and Hindus, along with mountains.

After breakfast, we take an early morning drive to Nayapul and the starting point of our trek. We follow the River Bhurungdi east, passing lowland rice fields, local villages, and a small waterfall. We reach Tikhedunga at night.
We climb 3300 stone steps to Ulleri. From here, we will have magnificent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Later in the trek, we will also see Fishtail Mountain. After walking thousands of steps, the trail becomes more accessible as we pass Banthati and walk through the rhododendron forest.
We hike to the top of Poonhill, where we will see a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Then, we descend to Tadapani through pine and rhododendron forests.
We start the day on flat ground to Bhaisi Kharka before a steep descent to Ghandruk. Ghandruk offers sensational views of Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Annapurna South, and Himchuli. While staying in Ghundruk, a trip to the local monastery and Gurung museum is worth visiting.
A gentle descent back to Nayapul following the Modi River and a short drive to Pokhara.
En route, you can enjoy mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields, and people engaged in their daily activities. From Naubishe, you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to the capital city.
